Kosa kata Bahasa Inggris yang memiliki akar dari bahasa Arab

Menurut Professor Dr. Mohannad Al-Fallouji penyusun buku "Kamus Surga"  sekurangnya terdapat 25,000 kosa kata yang memiliki akar dari bahasa Arab, diantaranya :

1. Admiral, berasal dari kata أمير البحر (Amir Al-bahr) artinya : Laksamana, atau Raja laut.
2. Cornea (kornea mata), berasal dari kata كرة عين (Kurrat Al'ayin) artinya : Bola mata
3. Abbot (kepala biara pria), berasal dari kata عابد - عبود ('Abid - 'Abud) artinya : Ahli ibadah
4. Abelmosk (jenis tumbuhan), berasal dari kata حب المسك (Habbu Almisk) artinya : bibit parfum
5. ِAbility (kemampuan), berasal dari kata قابلية (Qabiliyah) artinya : kerentanan
6. ِAble (mampu), berasal dari kata قابل (Qabil)
7. Abyss (Neraka), berasal dari kata عبس ('Abs) artinya : muka masam
8. Algorithm (salah satu cabang ilmu matematika dan komputer) berasal dari nama seorang ilmuan muslim abad ke-9 yang bernama الخوارزمي (Al khawarizmi).
9. ِAlcohol, berasal dari kata الكحل (Al kahl) artinya : larutan.
10. magazine (majalah), berasal dari kata مخزن (Makhzan) artinya : tempat penyimpanan.
11. 'Ally' means partner, associate, confederate, federate came from arabic word 'Waly' ولي :
الله ولي الذين آمنوا يخرجهم من الظلمات إلى النور
"Allah is the ally of those who believe. He brings them out from darknesses into the light." (Al-quran 2:257)

According to Professor Dr . Mohannad Al - Fallouji author of the book " Paradise Dictionary " there are at least 25,000 English vocabulary which has its roots in the Arabic language , for examples :

4 . Abelmosk  , derived from the word حب المسك ( Habbu Almisk ) means : seed perfume
5 . Ability , derived from the word قابلية ( Qabiliyah ) means : vulnerability
6 . Able ( capable ) , derived from the word قابل ( Qabil ) mean : able.
7 . Abyss  , derived from the word عبس ( ' Abs ) means : long face
8 . Algorithm is derived from the name of a muslim scientist 9th century  named الخوارزمي ( Al Khwarizmi ) .
9 . Alcohol , derived from the word الكحل ( Al kahl ) means : fluid .
10 . magazine , derived from the word مخزن ( Makhzan ) means : storage.
